The
ADREL devices for sending, receiving and correcting programs for CNC
machining systems eliimnates traditional media (paper tapes) as well as
obsolete mechanical readers. They introduce the uniform system for
sending and receiving programs for CNC machining devices. They also
provide opportunity for correcting or writing the program directly on
the keyboard of the electronic “reader”, which allows to significantly
reduce the time of deploying new programs and increases the convenience
of using the CNC machine as well as productivity. The elements of the
system contain no mechanical eleements, they are realiable, do not use
up and do not require maintenance. They are based on the new
microelectronic technologies.
The main element
of the system are CT-MMC or ICP-x electronic readers. Their task is to
send and receive the programs to/from the CNC machine. They are
connected directly to the CNC system instead of the tape reader. The
programs for reader memory can be loaded from the MMC disk (only CT-MMC
reader), from the MP or MPB module, from the paper tape (via the paper
reader), from the RS-232 link, from the control system (when connecting
CT-MMC or ICP-x as the tape perforating device) or directly from the
keyboard. The programs are stored in the memory after shutting the
power off. The memory can store up to several dozen of the programs.
The number of the programs to be stored depends on their size. The
readers offered are CPU-based devices, equipped with semiconductor
memories with capacity of 32kB, 64kB or 128 kB. Additionally, the
reader can be extended by attaching MP-x or MPB-x module (maximum
memory 512 kB). The CT-MMC reader supports flash MMC disk (Multimedia
Card made by SanDisk). The MMC disks have the capacity of 512MB to 2
GB. The MMC disks can be attached to the PC computer (using proprietary
MMC reader). This disk is seen by Windows operating system as yet
another hard disk. Another available media (for ICP readers) is memory
module (MP-x or MPB-x) built using semiconductor memory powered by
internal battery. By using the transmission card (KTK-RS ) attached to
the COM port in the computer the user can write or read the programs
stored in the module. Additionally the CT-MMC reader can be equipped
with the batteries allowing to work without power supply for the period
of about 5 hours. The reader can be used as portable computer for
loading the programs to CNC machines having their own memories. The
reader contains built-in battery charger.
